Title: The EGW flat bottom firing pin block I purchased for my Dan Wesson didn't fit
Post by: Intercooler on June 28 2012 07:50:23 PM MDT
I tore it down last night for a cleaning and was geared towards swapping them out. The 80 series EGW sent looked nothing like what I took out and it wouldn't fit. I sent them a side by side picture of the two and he said I need the 70 series.

I will post the picture on my phone tomorrow.

Also, be aware it will almost certainly require some fitting.  Mine had to be filed to width as I recall.  I think a series 80 will work in a series 70 gun.  The 80 has a relief on the right side for the firing pin block release lever to clear.

In looking at the DW factory block it is darn near flat bottom now. I may see if I can get something else in exchange instead.

yeah..Like I was mentioning the only real difference is the extra metal removed on the right side for the series 80 lever clearance.

This will work fine in your Series 70 gun once you file it to fit.  Same fitting would be required if you had a series 70 EGW.  They are all oversize.

Looks like the DW came with a flat bottom FPS. The break on the bottom edge is far less than the (now) standard FPS.

Good to know that about the RZ-10.

Yea it's not much at all. Why I may get something else instead if the option exists.
