Title: Help with New Sights for My G20
Post by: Caneman on July 04 2013 12:58:51 PM MDT
hey guys, i havent logged on in a while looks like the site is getting bigger   8)

anyway, i would appreciate a little help in recommending some sights for me on my G20...

what after market sight do you use and how do you like it?

can i install it at home fairly easily?

these sights will be used for hunting purposes and not home self defense...

You may want to opt for fiber optic types sights seeing you will be working during hunting times and not night time.

About the only reason I would own a Glock is so I could put TruGlo TFO sights on it. Those are the baddest!

I am fond of the Warren Tactical sights myself. I have the plain black rear sight with a fiber optic front on all but my carry gun - it has a tritium/white outline front sight.

The rear sight took a little bit of work to install but not too bad, really. Front sights are a piece of cake, of course :-)

I have a set of Dawson Precision adjustable on my G20 and am happy with them.  No problems installing.

AmeriGlo= front sight with orange circle surrounding tritium vial---- much more accurate than XS setup but not quite as visible. Rear sight standard black.  Dave

I know this post is old but may be helpful to anyone else with a similar situation.  I use my G20 for hunting and have the Warren red fiber up front and blacked out rear and it works beautifully. The green fiber seemed too bright in sunny conditions where the red was most consistent from light to dark.

So. Stock rear with warren front?

No, I think you'd need the Warren Tactical plain rear... IIRC the WT front is a different height.

I have TruGlo TFO's on my 20 & Heinie Ledge Straight Eight Night Sights on my 26. I prefer the TFO's for daytime use & the Heinie's for nighttime. The fiber optics on the TFO's really stand out. Easy to mount using the right tools. I used this for the rear http://www.glockstore.com/sightmaster-sight-pusher-tool and this for the front http://www.glockstore.com/ultimate-armorer-s-tool. Just make sure not to clamp down too tight on the frame & make sure that is positioned correctly in the sight pusher tool that you put pressure as evenly as possible on the rear sight. I would use some oil in the dovetail slot on the slide so that it slides in with the least amount of pressure possible.

I purchased the TFO's in march of this year from the Glockstore. They have a 30 day warranty thru the retailer. However, a 12 year warranty if you call the manufacturer. My front sight faded & I called TruGlo in September. They sent me a front sight no questions asked & with no proof of purchase necessary. I think they have excellent customer service.
