Hey Fellas I've got a question on my DW-Cbob and the slide stop notch. I got back from the range the other day and was cleaning my Cbob and I noticed the slide stop notch was kind of getting peened and the metal toward the back was kind of raised ever so slightly on the bottom corner. I was shooting Underwood 200 grain XTP's at 1250 and I'm not sure of the weight of the recoil spring but I will say it take's a little extra muscle to rack the slide. Is there anything I can do to stop the peening.
Yes , you would have to stop shooting UW ammo. Seriously ALL heavy ammo is going to peen any slide at some point.

You can read my stop failure and what I just did as a try. Can you post some pictures of it? In particular the impression and angle.

I'm kind of a dinosauer when it comes to pics I guess. The lower corner at the leading edge of the back..front portion of the notch is getting smashed to the point that the metal is raised and sticking out,you can feel it and see it. I've got two 1911's doing this now so I'm beginning to think it has something to do with the UW Nickle plated 200 gr. Xtp's maybe being over pressured or something. I wonder if I went to a lighter weight Underwood 155 or 165 grain loading if it would be less punishing on my guns. Thanks,
Nope. 1911's in .45ACP are doing it too and that's low pressure. File the edge where it sticks out. Put a slight round to the corner with the file. Then work your stop slightly at an opposite angle to prevent pressure on the edge. I bet your angle on the stop is going the wrong way.

I put info I found in there.
Thanks Intercooler, how's the Razorback doing now with the new slidestop.
Only went once so far and no mark to see where it's making contact.
That's good news did you modify the new slidestop?
Oh yea. I filed the outer edge back more than the inner. I also filed the angle to catch more on the top than the bottom of the stop.
Noticed this on my RZ 10 today when cleaning it. Ran a box of Corbon Hunters out of it.
Checked my other guns and my Kimber 9mm Target II had the same thing happen and all I run out of that is 115 grain ammo, so its not isolated to heavy ammo.
