Here is one of my semis from back in the day, it litterally became too valuable to keep so I sold it at a nice profit. I stil have the S&W 610 with a new scope and set of beautiful grips.

A couple of nice 10's too bad you couldn't have kept the Delta though. How's your smith shoot with that scope and long barrel.
The Delta is the one gun I have been wanting.

I did buy one back when I was single, and not kid poor.
THen I sold it to afford the engagement ring.
Love my wife very much...But I never should have sold that gun. Should have found a different way to fund the ring.

Don't feel bad I sold a 50Bmg sniper rifle all kitted out to buy my wife a 25th year wedding anniversary ring.
The Delta Gold Cup was nice(amazing trigger)and sure was pretty. If I recall correctly it was right at $800 and change when I bought it NIB from the dealer. Again if I recall correctly I sold it after many years of gentle use and quality care for $1200.00 or $1400.00 I didn't need the money and I had discovered "Glock Perfection" ;D in the form of the model 20 so it was beginning to spend more and more time in the safe. Then people started going crazy for the Colt's so I decided to cash in.
That is an old red dot non magnifying sight on the S&W 610 in that photo. I forget the dots MOA(big though)but it was still easy to put all 6 of about any brand of ammo(or hand load)in a 8 inch paper plate while standing @ 100 yards. I have since replaced the red dot with a Burris 2-6 3200 Elite handgun scope and replaced those big ole rubber Hogue grips with some checkered wooden beauties. Now from a supported position it will easily put all 6 into five inches @ 100 yards, a highly skilled/trained handgun hunter(which I am not)could do even better I am sure. In all honesty both guns were more accurate than I will ever be. I figure as long as I can put one in the vitals of a coyote or feral hog @ 100 yards, I am about as accurate as I need to be with the long barreled revolvers. Here is the most recent configuration of the S&W 610.
P.S. the cases :o you see in the 610 are those red plastic spring loaded snap caps I use for dry firing practice

I guess this probably dates me...But I seem to recall I paid less than 5 bills for my Delta. I wanna say it was 4 bills, but it might have been $450.

That sounds about right, IIRC I bought my first Blued Colt Delta Elite from Oshmans<sp? sporting goods store in Tampa FL circa 1987maybe, for $400.00 or so. Years later I looked for months and for miles in all directions and could never find the stainless steel Delta Gold Cup for less than $799.00. Over time I had three different blued basic early run Colt Delta Elites and had issues with 2 of the 3.
I've sold off my 5" & 6.5" S&W 610's because S&W revolvers bust my middle knuckle on my middle finger bad enough to almost not being able to use my hand next day if shot very much. My first year (1987) DE went down the road because of too good a deal to refuse. Still have the DE and it doesn't swell or smiley cases even pretty warm cases. It did however split a barrel from chamber to crown while shooting factory Winchester 175gr Silvertips and case was undamaged and not showing any signs of swelling. Colt paid for shipping and included two new magazines after replacing barrel, w/o any reluctance or foot dragging and the gun was back in 10 days.
Got rid of a POS 38 Super Taurus that would swell light Remington ball target loads and smiley a load that would come out of my Colt looking pristine. Called Taurus about it and was told it was normal and only a problem if the cases were not being ejected. Had the gun traded off in less then 24 hours for the Kimber Custom TLE/RL 10mm and that's the last Taurus I'll own.
I personally stay away from Taurus like the plague. Some like'em, and some models are better than others, but with so many other great choices...
I think Taurus is a crap shoot for certain.
If the right gun rolled up at the right price, I would roll the dice. I guess that is why my wife keeps me away from the craps tables.

That was what I did and had gun in hand for $425 NIB with two magazines. I should remember why I only rolled craps once, lost all the money I had in the world....my whole months pay of $35 as an E2/SA in USN in spring of 1964.
