Title: Ammo and more store in Montana.
Post by: Panzer on June 09 2013 08:30:47 PM MDT
Has anyone heard of this place in Stevens Montana? Sounds like they have stock in most bulk and have Armscor 10mm $188.00 for 500 and I like Armscor for plinking and not in the mood for full 10mm. They require a photo ID for orders and I am just a skeptical person. Thanks for any help.

I seen Armscor hit 1200 high 11's out of a stock Glock 20.Its not bad for plinking at all.188.00 for 500,not to shabby at all. Shipping east, another story. Def worth looking into.

I have a very good friend in Stevens.  I'll ask what he knows about it.

$376/K is a fabulous price.  That is what I was paying for Georgia Arms ammo 5 years ago.  If you are buying new components, you can't handload that cheap.

Also, note that they are at gunshows in Las Vegas, Tulsa and SLC at least once a year.  If one of those is near you they will probably bring you order to the show at no shipping.

Anyone shot any of the Armscor 10mm in a Kimber (with the standard 10mm recoil spring (18.5 lbs))?  I like the price, and the reviews are good, but I'm afraid to buy 500 rounds when I haven't shot any of it.  The shipping and handling at AmmoAndMore is also pretty steep ($35 to Boulder, Colorado), but the total price (about $220) is still a lot less than Midway would cost (about $260, I think).  I think I'll still wait until I can get a couple of boxes from Midway (currently out of stock), to be sure that it cycles OK in my Kimber.  (My Kimber has a weaker-than-normal mainspring in it (18 lbs), and a flat-bottomed fps.  It DOES cycle American Eagle fine, though, which are also fairly lightly loaded.)

Mike, You should be fine with the Armscor. A 18lb spring has some tension. I got a response from those folks,im looking at 41.00 shipping to Penna. So I figure,.36 a round total. Not to shabby.Thats what I was quotted. I shot plenty of it. It's east of me,so you should do better.

I've driven past it but didn't have time to stop.  I know a few people who live down there who really like the store.

I just received my order for 500 rounds of 10mm-FMJ from AmmoAndMore.  The cardboard box that the 500 rounds were shipped in was marked "Made in USA", but Midway shows Armscor to be made in Asia somewhere.  The packing list doesn't show the manufacturer's name.  Is that ammo actually Armscor, or is it something else?  Has anyone on this forum shot any of this bulk 10mm ammo from AmmoAndMore?

Can you take a picture of the headstamp, ammo and any packaging?

I think if you check the Armscor web site you will see that they are stating an ammo plant somewhere in the Northwest, Montana, Washington, or they may be moving it to Nevada.  Not sure but remember seeing their announcement recently.  It seems the US is their main customer and like so many others they are moving some manufacturing closer to the customer.

Checked and here is the announcement:  https://us.armscor.com/news-and-media/newsroom/armscor-doubles-production-capacity-to-meet-us-ammo-shortage

Here's the reply I got from Christy at AmmoAndMore:

"The company that built the ammo is ACI (Armscor Cartridge Inc) which is partnered with Armscor. ACI builds Armscor brand ammo in Montana. Armscor is located in the Philippines and manufactures components."

And last night, I saw that the Armscor link on the AmmoAndMore webpage said that in 2011 Armscore started production in Stevensville.  (This morning, the AmmoAndMore webpage looks more extensive and useful).
