My question is.... does the Delta Elite in 10 MM take a different barrel than a standard 1911? I want to put a 40 cal barrel in it and I have heard that the locking lugs or larger than standard in the DE. Is this true? If so where can I get a 40 cal DE barrel? If Not then also where can I get a good 40 cal barrel and spring?
Thanks in advance.

hogslayer, you may need to contact some of the 1911 barrel makers for more precise info, they should have a drop in barrel available with only the chamber being cut for the 40S&W. KKM or Bar-Sto or Shuman should be able to provide answers and pricing.
Thanks at least that is a place to start.

Thanks DenStinett
i got a swenson semi ndrop in for my 9MM to convert it to a 38 super and it works great. The main question i had was are the Delta Elete and a standard 1911 barrel exactly the same?? if so i will prob go with the swenson for the DE.
Thanks
I would suggest the Kart easy-fit barrel from Brownells.
Thanks sqlbullet
I have to decide is weather i have the skills to fit that barrel. The swenson barrel is pretty much drop in.

Yes, a 40 cal Barrel cut for a Colt 1911 will lock-up in your Delta Slide
You will have to go Rampless (unless your Delta's been Ramped too)
Also, be aware that the drop in barrels "drop in" about 70-80% of the time. That means you have a 1 in 4 chance you will be doing some fitting on the "drop-in" barrel.
Yep got a handle on the drop in part. But just in case I have a buddy that is a gunsmith right around the corner from me. lol (as backup)
If you need to fine tune the fit:

Thanks DM1906
But that is what the buddy is for. He has all the tools already.
