the TL;DR is this. Theatre management has the bright idea to hire an actor to dress up in black tactical gear and charge into a theater of people about to see Iron Man 3. With a plastic M4 and M9.

Shoemaker added it's a good thing an off-duty officer wasn't at the theater because it's likely the officer would have engaged the actor. Had the actor not complied, the situation could have turned out much worse.
I am pretty sure if there had been an officer there they actor would have been "complying" with gunshot wounds. A man enters a dark room with a gun out and all the advantage or surprise, you likely are not going to ask him to put the gun down. You are going to put him down.
Thankfully this wasn't in Utah.
Are people really THAT stupid?
(never mind....just answered my own question)
What does a guy in body armor with an M4 and pistol have to do with the movie? I could understand an actor in an Iron Man costume, but some random guy that appears armed? Makes no sense at all...
Like sqlbullet said, it's a good thing an off law enforcement officer wasn't in there armed. This "stunt" could have ended awfully bad for the guy dressed up in Tac gear.
Yep, just because the theater is considered a gun free zone, doesn't mean that someone isn't carrying in defiance... :o

Yeah, apparently nobody learned. Not that I would wish it, but this should have been a very bad incident. It just goes to show that the sheep, are still sheep. In MO? Should have been more hardware in that theater than at Lowe's. Maybe all those macho types who watch those macho type movies, ain't so macho....
I saw Iron Man 3 last night an I know for a fact that there were two 1911's in my row. I am afraid of how that would have turned out at my theatre.
Big Question? ??? Was there advertisement of the use of live displays or live action posted to advise guest of such?
This could have turned out very bad either way...People giving the illusions of of a bad guy with a gun so soon and people on the edge from the recent events...
