Title: Well I am still here!!
Post by: gadabout on January 05 2023 07:13:44 AM MST
Seems kind of quiet on the forum these days course this is cumming off the holiday season!! I am still shooting every day and reloading every day so if it's 9MM I am down to my last 3000 rounds Ha Ha. This is winter so there is nothing else to do but reload all day after shooting 30 rounds in the morning. I keep some extra rounds in the car in case I need extra at the range. I checked that lot and I am up to 600 extra. Oh well they will always shoot!! Will shoot 40 cal and 10MM in the next few days.  Craig

Now that I'm retired, I don't shoot as much as I used to! I need to get back into the habit of maintaining proficiency, thanks for the reminder!

Well I met a friend at the range and he forgot his rounds so we shot mine but didn't shoot over 40 or so. I loaded up 50 so I am back to where I was. We also shot some 380 I loaded for him to test the COL as he was having some problems clambering some rounds. The COL was set a little long so I fixed that and he shot all with no problems. I will load a quick 200 for him when I can. We are having fun now!!!  Craig

I do most of my reloading during the winter months. Ive been trying to get most of it done here recently. I start a Critical Care Paramedic class next week and since the overtime isnt really there at my current employer, which is where I make my play money, I have picked up a second job starting in a couple of weeks. But I loaded 100 rounds 6.5 CM for range ammo and 60 Barnes TTSX for the 6.5 CM for hunting. Working on 300 rounds of 44 Magnum. Will get to some 9mm and 41 Magnum yet this winter.

Ive forgotten to take ammo to the range before. In fact, just before deer season I drove 30 miles to sight in the slug guns with my dad. Got to the range to discover I left the shotgun sitting on the bed at home. So 30 miles home and 30 miles back to the range.

Yeah also one of my reasons to keep extra rounds in the car as I do enough different rounds I may grab the wrong ones or whatever!!!  Craig

I always have at least one firearm and ammo in my truck, so I'll never not have goodies at the range.  Usually two.

Your right and I always take at lease two guns to the range so that when I jam one up I can keep shooting. With me shooting everyday I do loose track of some bullets specially if a friend shows up and shoots my rounds. I used to have a box of 50 rounds that I would shoot 30 or 40 rounds but have moved to a 100 count box which is better as I seldom have any issues with running out. The range by the way is very good at getting a bullet lodged in the barrel out and they prefer that you let them do it. I do my own when they are not looking out of habit more than anything else. This is like once every three to six months or so. It's those off shore primers that get me every so often.  Craig

Well I carried the Sig sp2022dp for about 8 hours and it was fine so switch to the Taurus g2 and forgot I was carrying anything. My carry issues are history at this point.  Craig
