Title: Crimping bullets
Post by: cwlongshot on December 20 2022 12:17:33 PM MST
I have been involved in a thread on another forum talking about crimping and after some prodding thought It might be nice idea to make a video on different style crimping.
Taper Crimp
Roll Crimp
LEE FCD
then Reddings excellent, Profile Crimp which is really just an improved or modified Roll Crimp. Its what I now prefer.

Thanks CW, the video really helped me to better understand the different crimp types, especially the roll crimp, as I?ve never worked with that one

I?ve always been interested in learning about the roll crimp, but until now, have never had a use for it. The only calibers I?ve focused on over the years are 9, .45, and 10mm, but am now looking to get back into a .44 magnum, specifically a Henry Big Boy 44. I used to have a Ruger 44 carbine back in the late 80?s, and really liked it, so I think it time to revisit the 44 😀

CW another excellent tutorial, thank you.

If you have a chronograph and modify your settings, as you increase or decrease your values, reloaders will find an increase in muzzle velocity. That equals free FPS, we always like that.
