I've been very interested in the GIRSAN HUNTER FDE since I 1st saw it. Locally I hadn't been able to find 1. talked to a couple stores and nobody could get them.
Tuesday I got a wild hair up my bung and looked at Davidsons to see if they had more stock on the HUNTER. I called them and they confirmed that they did have some. I called my LGS, GUNWORLD AND ARCHERY in Elko. I got the owner, Farnes and he said that he'd call me back with a price. He's a great local business owner and he has the best Gun store in our county.
He called me back in a couple of minutes and told me that he has ordered a few. His price was $660. Thats about the best price that I've found. GB has a few at that price, but you have to pay a 3% CC fee, $35 - $45 shipping and a $35 FFL transfer fee. This was a no brainer.
Last night I put a Stoeger Condor and my Hellcat on the market to help fund my newest 10. I sold the Condor and went and put $200 down on the Hunter. It will be here within a week.
Stay tuned.
I own a Girsan hunter. It is a great gun for the price. (Better than people believe!) I changed the grips and made it a little more personal. You will love it.

Another fine Turkish weapon
Just picked her up. 1st impression- FANTASTIC!
i'd love to share pics of the field strip, but this site is a PITA to upload pics. small files, bad pathway.
So, heres a link to my post on NORTHWEST FIREARMS FORUM.

Picked up one myself and one of their Beretta 92 copy's in 9mm, both are excellent handguns. I've put about 400 rounds through each so far without a single hitch.
So, mine is headed back to EAA. I'm actually pretty unhappy with it.
At 15 yrds, I can barely get it on a B27 target. I'm talking hitting the belt line. Despite messing with the adjustable rear sight, it has terrible accuracy.
I was at the range trying to dial it in. At 110 rnds of S&B 180 FMJ, I loaded up some Sig 180 VCrown. On the 1st shot, the firing pin retaining plate dropped down and locked into the hammer. A bit of work with my leatherman and she was back up and running. I have never had a 1911 do that.
I also have noticed a considerable amount of "slop" in the frame - slide interface. While I don't expect it to be of a "Dan Wesson" like quality, I do expect it to be better than it is. It definitely is on the low end of the quality scale.
I guess that I shouldn't be surprised that EAA doesn't pay for the return.
That is too bad. I hope they are able to work out the issue(s) and get you a solid gun.
Biden has closed the most of the oil drilling on Public Lands. Here in Wyoming many families are are out of work. I have bought 20 10MM pistols to help friends. I have run out of funds for these and other calibers.
I have used my SIG 220 Elite Hunter and my SS Colt 1911 10MM for many years. I must admit my Colt 1911 Delta Elite 10MM remains my favorite.
An old friend was taken down 2 weeks ago by a Grizzly Bear. Larry managed to put 8 rounds of 10MM in the Bear. His Glock pistol did not fail him. During the Bear attack one round of 10MM hit Larry in the leg. A chopper landed on lake and flew him the SLC 175 miles away. The telephone saved him.
That same week an antler hunter who lives down the street was attacked by a Grizz. He has survived so far. The 10MM with the right ammo has saved many Wyoming folks.
HOLY COW!!!
Just curious ... what ammo was your friend using?
I am gonna guess this was the attack:

The article reports 130 grain hard cast. Accurate catalogs this bullet (https://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=40-127H) but it seems less than ideal weight wise for bear country. I suspect the news article is correct that something was lost in translation and that the victim was carrying something heavier. DoubleTap catalogs a 230 grain hard cast supposedly moving 1125 fps. Even if that is over-stated by 100 fps, that is some serious bear medicine.
It?s an interesting balance of what to use in known bear country. Do you use a, say 230gr HC running at say, 1125, or something slightly lighter like an Underwood 200gr, HC clocking in at 1250 with potentially more penetration. Either way, a solid hit will put the hurt on Mr Big
I never count on a handgun for something like a bear. The bear gun at the cabin is either the 12 gauge with slugs, the 358 winchester (AR-10 with 20 round mag shooting 280 grain lead hard cast) or the 300 Win Mag.
I?d be more comfortable with those options as well, using the handgun as a last resort
Got my "Hunter" back. Gotta say that I'm fairly unimpressed with EAA.
They replaced the firing pin and firing pin retaining plate.
The did nothing in regards to my complaint of its poor accuracy, or the excessive slop in the frame slide interface.
I feel like I wasted $700 in buying this POS.
I HIGHLY recommend staying away from Girsan's.
My experience with EAA's warranty support was extremely disappointing. This was for a Tanfoglio, IFG is their importer now, I hope their customer service is better.
a good friend has one, and has been an exceptional weapon. I?ve see similar things with the Taurus GX4, POA / POI issues, feeding problems, you name it, yet many, including mine has run 100%. It just seems like some of these companies really struggle with keeping their quality control at a constantly high level
i have reached emailed Girsan twice in the last month. NO RESPONSE.
My only option is to try to fix what I can. I may try to lower the front sight, shim up the rear, or buy new sights. The last option is really the last. I dont want to put another red cent into this turd that I wasted $700 on.
I have a pistol scope and mount that I may concentrate on dialing in.
Seems like I got the one made on Monday. :(
Sorry to hear this. Any luck getting a remedy?
I have sworn to never ever buy another EAA product. If you want a budget semi auto 10 mm pistol look at Taurus. They now have the TH10 10mm auto. I'll trade even up my Witness Match for one.
Sorry, but I have NOT told y'all the final outcome.
After getting it back from *** (I refuse to speak their name), I had another terrible and innacurate range session. I actually was starting to hate this gun and didn't want to waste any ammo on it.
I got to thinking and realized that my FFL had gotten the pos from Davidsons. I went down to talk to him. Farnes is a great guy. He agreed to contact them on my behalf. I left the gun witth him.
1 week later it was on its way back to Davidsons with a brand new one passing it like the proverbial "2 ships in the night". Davidsons stepped up.
But, Farnes was gentleman and offered me the new 1 OR my money back.
I took the cash! I wanted nothing else to do with that foo&$ng gi*&an.
I got lucky!
