I recently purchased a Gen 4 Glock 20 & love it. I have a G17 & G19 as well. I have installed Glock 4.5lb (used to be referred to as 3.5lb) trigger connectors in both the 17 & 19. The stock trigger on the G20 is much more crisp than either of my 9mm's even with the 4.5lb conncector in the 17 & 26.
I took the 4.5lb connector out of one of the 9mm's and installed in the G20. The trigger was then the same as the 9mm's which is to say made it worse. I compared all 3 connectors (stock 5.5lb connector from the G26, 4.5lb connector, & the stock G20 connector) side by side. All 3 are different. Does anyone know what connector this is? Sorry, I have no photos at the moment.
Was the G20 new or used?
Without pics it is hard to say, but I don't recall them changing the connector with the Gen 4 rev. Best guess if it is used is the previous owner put in a 3.5 connector.
It's a brand new Gen 4. So, all stock parts. Definitely different than the other Glock 3.5lb (now called 4.5lb) connector found in the Glock 34, 35, etc.
Gen 4 Glocks have the ejector housing (black plastic piece that holds the trigger connector) at a slightly different angle than previous generations. To go with this, the Gen 4's should come with the "dot" connector (small frame guns do, don't know for sure about the G20 and other large frames). The "Dot" connector is a bit lighter than what comes in the gen 3 guns, and is about like a gen 3 4.5lb connector.
When I got my gen4 G19, the trigger was pretty bad, even with the stock "dot" connector. My Gen3 G21 had a 3.5 lb Ghost connector, and the trigger was too soft and mushy. I swapped connectors between the two guns, now both have similar trigger feel, and it's pretty good on both.
Short version is the gen4 needs a slightly lighter connector to get the same trigger feel as a gen 3. Hope that makes sense.
Yondering, is your G21 an SF or normal model? I think that the SF models are at a different angle similar to the Gen 4 models (to fit the reduced grip) but I'm not sure.
As a side note... I have three Glocks now:
Gen 3 G26 (5.5 no mark connector)
Gen 4 G17 (4.5 "dot" connector)
Gen 3 G20SF (5.5 no mark connector)
The trigger on these three guns out of the box are very different. I have dry fired them and shot them back to back a few times now. The G26 (my first Glock), even after thousands of rounds, still feels like the trigger hits a brick wall (no movement) before it breaks. about six months ago I meticulously polished the trigger components, but it didn't make a noticeable difference. It is fairly heavy, but workable. I remember taking it apart once after I'd had it for a few months to make sure it didn't accidentally come with a + connector! I recently put a standard Ghost 3.5 connector in the gun. The trigger became TOO light for my tastes, noticeably lighter than my G20SF w/ Ghost Rocket connector. I ended up putting the stock connector back in the gun.
The G17 with the dot connector was lighter out of the box than my G26 after 1,000s of rounds. The trigger, while still firm, is not bad. There is an almost undetectable level of mushiness before the trigger breaks.
The G20SF was also lighter (and better feeling) out of the box than the G26. I put the Ghost Rocket connector and heavier trigger spring in the gun with some polishing. The trigger is fairly light now, but not as light as the G26 w/ 3.5 connector. I suspect that the trigger geometry has something to do with this, along with the heavier striker spring that the bigger G20 striker carries.

My 21 is the SF model. It could be a different angle, but not the same as the gen4, at least from comparing my gen4 19 and gen3 21SF.
