Hello,
Long time reloader, but new to 10mm. I bought some 10mm brass to reload. The S&B brass is dealing me fits with its tight primer pockets. I am using Federal LPP and can?t get them to seat without crushing them.
Any tips on fixing my situation?
Thanks
Pocket uniformer cutter/reamer many are crimped these days!
Any particular brand or model you would recommend.
I have used the Hornady reamers and the RCBS

I am thing about using my Dillon 600 Swage to open up the S&B primer pockets.
I did use my Dillion 600 on them. Didn?t work well.
I've used several tools, but the RCBS primer pocket swager works the best for me. I've swaged all my S&B 10mm brass with it with great satisfaction
I don?t have any of their 10mm brass, but .38s have the same problem.
A Hornady rep told me their primers are odd-sized and cause feeding problems on the LNL AP (as do Winchester SPPs, for me.)
I?ve never had an issue priming them. They are noticeably tighter for sure. I?ve hand primed them with a K&M tool and WLP and have never needed to swage or cut the pockets.
S&B brass is tight, but I've not had any problems priming them. I use a hand primer.
When I run into a tight pocket like this I just chamfer the edge slightly with a small, cheap box cutter. It works fine. You just need to get rid of that constricting edge so the primer can start. There are a few brands of case that have these tight primer pocket edges.
