Have been doing some reliably testing the last few weeks with Underwood?s Bonded GD 147gr +P+. Considering how moderate the recoil is for a +P+, as well as their massive expansion (0.814), they are looking like potentially good carry rd.

At one time he was loading them to:
Muzzle Velocity: 1250 fps
Muzzle Energy: 509 ft. lbs
Yep, Kevin & Company make some awesome stuff
It's good quality stuff. One thing to consider is it will typically expand more but penetrate less.
I cannot remember if it was 147 or 124 but in my tiny Glock 43 with the standard spring it did not recycle as reliably as the other stuff. One or two in 100 would fail to feed. In other glocks I have heard they cycle fine.
So far so good in my XDm 3.8, just going to keep testing them
Also, I?m checking with Underwood to see what kind of penetration they are seeing
Underwood just got back to me
Hello, Ken
The 147-grain +p+ is giving us typically through 2 layers of denim about 16.5 inches of penetration. The 124-grain +p+ is giving about 17 inches of penetration through 2 layers of denim.
With penetration around 16?, Underwood?s 147gr +P+ should work dandy when carrying a 9 : )
