Title: Primer Substitution With HS-7
Post by: Nannyhammer on March 12 2022 04:20:53 PM MST
All, As everyone knows, primers are harder to find than unicorns. I have several pounds of HS-7 and only a few magnum primers. It seems all the reloading data only has WLP or magnum type primers.  Do any of you have experience using standard primers with HS-7 in the 10MM?  I've done preliminary work up using a home cast 185 grain HP, R-P 2 1/2 primers, with 9.5 grains and haven't seen any issues.  This load runs about 1145 fps and see no indications of pressure. Appreciate your inputs!

Should be good with standard large pistol primers.

Not to hijack your thread but I am starting to see all types of primers returning to shelves at different stores here in Eastern NC. The great primer depression may be coming to an end.
