So I have 100 of these that I ordered awhile ago. My problem is I have no data that I am willing to trust yet as to powder charge and COAL. My Lyman manual has data for 2 cast bullets that are within 5gr but obviously different bullets. The max charges in the Lyman manual are very different between the two. Not much help on the powder manufacturers websites for 125gr cast bullets, either.
I have 2400, H110, Power Pistol, BE-86, Longshot, A#9, Silhouette, and Federal and CCI small pistol magnum primers on hand. I would expect some combination of those to work. I've extrapolated loads before, but for some reason I seem to be having a mental block on this one.
Any thoughts on data would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note, I just ordered an 4" M&P 10mm. It will arrive in 12 days or less. If the Acme bullets don't work out, I'm sure I'll be busy for awhile wringing out the new M&P. :D
The coated bullets should be good with any cast bullet data. If you are loading for 357 Mag BE-86 would be a good choice. 8.4 gr would be a good load and should run about 1125 fps.
Thanks Shadow, I agree re cast load data. The problem is I?m not finding that much for 125gr bullets in 357. I have almost ten lbs of Longshot and was hoping to go that route. I can use BE-86 though.
The no lube groove bullet is a fairly new design and I don?t have any other cast bullets to compare the length. That?s part of what?s causing me concern.
The weigh is the mass that will be pushed, the coating being the lubricating property for them should be OK even up to most jacketed data.
Long shot would likely work but a little slow but would generate higher velocities.
Power pistol & Silhouette would also be a good choice.
