Title: I'm in love
Post by: MadMac on April 17 2013 01:58:09 PM MDT
I just got back from the range. I was shooting my 10mm witness for the first time. It is a dream to shoot. I also got a 22 upper for it and that was really fun too. YAHOO! I'm always leery on my first trip out with a new firearm but this is the happiest I think I've ever been with a new gun!

Welcome to the addiction.

My only issue was the spent casings bouncing off of my big noggin. I was at an indoor range and the little booths are covered with thin carpet. They really got bouncing! I found myself wincing not because of recoil, but because of the spent casings.    8)

If it is like mine, when you shoot in the open they will be 30-40 feet away.

I created the page partially because EAA does nothing with theirs  :o

Good to hear, and little surprise. I've got the Hunter model, and that's really based on having handled other Witness models at the LGS a few years ago--they had the look, feel and sound of handguns costing 2-3 times as much, or more. The chambering in 10mm doesn't hurt--my impression of 10mm Auto is that it's quite a bit easier to load and shoot accurately than 40SW, probably has all the potential of 45ACP in any decent gun, and for an experienced shooter it should classify as a medium recoil cartridge. We are succeeding in generating and maintaining enough support for the cartridge that we enjoy several sources for high quality guns (EAA, Glock, Fusion for my short list), and even the wheelgun guys have what seems to be a decent choice or two. We've got Barsto, Storm Lake and LWD making barrels, to name the ones I know of still in the game, a could of bigger ammo makers and a few niche sources for quality ammo, dies are easy to come by and Starline is keeping up with the brass requirements.

Like Bill Gates once said, we live in paradise.

I share your excitement, and that's good because unfortunately Big Boss gave me a project with a real short fuse and it was a no-go for skipping out to the range today. So, a photo or two of your new sidearm really wouldn't hurt at all.  ;)

Here's the Hunter, and what it hungers for:
