Hmmm, I wonder why the 4.5 and 5.25" XDM 10mms have been discontinued? They seem to be very popular to me, so much so that the 3.8" OSP has gotten alot of attention as of late.
Things in general are only discontinued for a few reasons...
1. Bean counters decide low sales make even small yearly runs unprofitable.
2. Poor design necessitating warranty (shudder) work.
3. Dangerous product failures caused lawsuits
I bet it's number one.

must be #1. the few problems I've had with my 10mm XDm were ammo related and not the gun's fault.
That?s a shame. I like mine tons better than my semi custom Glock 20.
But then, maybe they will replace those dropped models with OSP and Elite models?
Sure hope SA doesn?t tank the Ten.

So far the Ronin and two XDM's are on their site, so that's a plus.
Too bad, I had just been talking to Shadow about the XDM, and how it was a good fit for my hand... well I have other options. 8)
Welcome Cottonwood!
Thank you Kenk 8)
Too bad, I really like mine.
Welcome Mike, lots of knowledgeable folks here
the OSP 3.8? is a fantastic weapon I like it better than the 5.25 match I had. My guess they just didn?t sell enough but because the little OSP is optic ready easy to conceal it will sell well. I love the trigger control and optics for this little GEM. Honestly if I carry full size I prefer my SIG to the XD 5.25. Nice to have options for sure. ;D
Is it just that they are moving to only produce the XD-M Elite line? The elites do not appear to be discontinued. I just ordered mine yesterday.
I was surprised as well...
I picked up the Elite 3.8" as a candidate as my main carry pistol for the town and the woods. Took it to the range and did a comparison between it and my G29 and created a YT video.
Was waiting on the red dot plate to install my Vortex Venom and thought I'd send it back for frame finish flaws. Supposedly a 2-4 week repair. Sent back first week in December, so 7 weeks and counting.
Getting concerned.
Well that's a shame. Now I have to find a 5.25 and full size OSP. My 4.5 has been an absolute dream and I was thinking of collecting several of them.
Already see the ItS dIsCoNtInUeD scalpers have hit gunbroker and the rest are gone. Dang.
If most shot like mine, then good riddance. Decent ergonomics, just an inaccurate piece of crap.
The new S&W 4.6 shoots so, so much better.
I have an old XD40 (5" Tac) model in 40 cal that has been a great gun.
I got it in mid-'06.
The #1 thing that most people don't think about in regards to the Springfield guns, is that springfield is just the importer. No different than charles daly or century international arms or any other number of importers.
Springfield armory doesn't make squat in regards to those guns. They're made by HS in Croatia.
Yea, this bummed me out. I really wanted the XDM 10 4.5 Some folks theorize they will be back BUT as "elites", like the 3.8", with the better trigger and optics ready. I hope that's the case. As for the M&P. I have a 2.0 Compact in 9mm and love it and waited years for a 10mm M&P but then saw too many hiccups (on YT) when folks ran the hotter loads.
So.... I planned on waiting for either the return of the full size XDM10 or tye Gen 5 G20. Of course I went ahead and got an R.I.A. while I'm waiting :D
Maybe you need different ammo. My 5.25 has always shot well even with Magteck under2" at 25yds. and loads it likes really well hovering around an 1" at 25yds. rested of course.
Looks like they did what a lot expected, they dropped the normal xdm line to startup elite versions of the original models. Seeing several start to appear on gunbroker that show as new. 4.5" elite osp, but they dont have the supressor height sights or threaded barrel yet have the factory OSP cut. I cant see that many people swapping the barrel and sights on an original 4.5" osp elite 10mm.
Might have to snag one of these too.
I always liked my xdm10..shoots nice, 15rds..trigger is not near as good as my Sig 320X 10mm....but it's still reliable and a good shooter
SA is making a 4.5? as an exclusive for Sportsmans Warehouse. $649.00 and in stock at my local store. It has a black frame, ceracoated green slide, optics reading. SA will send you 3 extra magazines, and a range bag free with proof of purchase. I?m going for it.
Sounds like a deal to me
Yes, I pushed the button, purchased online. It is waiting for me at my local store. I also ordered 500 pulls from American Reloading. My brass supply is good to go. Lif is good.
well that sux. it was my next buy. i was looking for a 10mm 1911, saw a Sig M-11 and pounced on that. the classic Sigs are as scarce as a cat in a dog pound
I misread this thread and thought the 3.8 was being discontinued. So I hunted and found one and bought it. when i was talking to the LGS owner he said there were only 2 more at his distributor. I wonder if SA is getting out of 10mm altogether?
