Title: Glock 20 vs M&P M2.0 10mm
Post by: broseph on December 14 2021 06:35:22 PM MST
The two most accessible 10mms:

I currently have a Glock 20 and just paid up the arse to finally get a Smith/Wesson 10mm, as in the new one that just came out! I like my M&P M2.0 9mm's grip wayy better than the Glock 20, as I am very short and have small hands that don't fit nicely in the Glock's grip.

I am thinking of selling my G20, once I've tried my M&P, at the earliest. Can anyone who has shot both of these guns compare them in terms of performance, utility, etc?

I?m having the same train of thought as you.

If I ever find the M&P 10 in the wild I?ll buy it.

I have the M&P 45 which is  probably the same size as the 10; it feels sooo much better than my Glock 20, as does my XD as well. In fact, I don?t even shoot the Glock anymore.

If you consider Gunbroker the wild, then it's there, but be prepared to pay a > $200 premium.

I have a 2.0 10mm 4? and recoil is very snappy with Underwood 200gr HC. I have decided to continue to carry the G20 as my woods gun. Probably will eventually sell the 2.0.

Update: I got my 4.6" M&P 10mm, and it blows the pants off the Glock 20, at least for me. Its recoil is no greater yet it's way easier for me to shoot 50 rounds, shoot 50 of 9mm, and then 50 of 10mm from my MP10 again (100 10mm total). The high sights are much better than the nubs the G20 gives, grip doesn't drive a weird feeling into my wrist like my G20 did, all around massive improvement!

I?m not the kind of guy that has to have a new gun bad enough to pay a premium.

Also, I try not to use GB. I don?t like paying transfer fees and most importantly, I want to handle the gun I am buying first.  Plus the added fact that scammers are getting more prevalent on GB doesn?t help. That?s not much of a problem with new guns; you can always find a seller that takes credit cards. But I have passed on some hard to find used guns at good prices only because they would only accept a Money order.

Congrats! So glad to hear that my thoughts were confirmed as well

From what I've seen, I think I'd be far more inclined to get an M&P over an XDM. But for now, I'm happy with my Glock 20.

I should probably read a review of the M&P that includes a history of the 10mm cartridge, beginning with the ancient Romans.

The 10mm began with a Centurion named Cooper. He wanted more arrows in his quiver so he opted for a slightly smaller arrowhead which enabled him to fit more without increasing quiver size.

I plan on getting one too once they get out in the marketplace and become normally priced.
Meanwhile I'll just read all the test reports and wait patiently until next year to get one.

I just found one on Smoky Mountain Guns and Ammo, SMGA.com. It's the 4.6" model with safety for $599 + tax and free shipping.
It came out to $626.66 total. So, looks like I'm getting one sooner than later. I use Gun.deals to look up guns in stock and
they usually have the best prices and find the firearms in stock.

Keep an eye out on them, they'll get more.
Also, Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore and Guns.com were not too out of line with their prices.

I am waiting on my FFL. He has orders into two distributors. Ill take what I can get. But would like the 4" non safety.

Ill never sell my G20 by choice. But the G29 could go.
This is a carry gun for me. The G40 is the hunter.

Got mine on 12-27-21. Shoots great and optics ready. I haven't shot it a lot since 10mm ammo is scarce and evaporates quickly once if finds it way to Academy shelves. I have a good supply and the dies/bullets/powder to reload it as well, just haven't yet. No jams with healthy ejection and shoots lots better than the Glock 20 I had with factory barrel. The Glock shot good with the KKM  6" barrel but this one shoots just as good if not better and I didn't have to buy another barrel for it.
