Any of you have experience with the Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph Premium Kit? It?s offered on Amazon for $139.00, and is $169.00 most everywhere else. I have discussed this model with a forum member, and appears to be a good value for the money.

Caldwell has received plenty of good reviews, so this should be a solid choice.

I have enjoyed mine for a couple of years. Previously used the CED Millenium and Chrony Beta Master and the Caldwell is preferred. Also had the great 35P from TX that took real commitment to set up. If the screens are in the shade they work a little better. You will enjoy it!
Every Chrono I know of that was shot had an optic on it. Keep the muzzle up and it's safe, sounds simple but lots of shooter get it right in the LED
I have had my Chrony since the 80's? A long time anyway, and if anyone wanted to chrono their load, either I shot it for the shooter, or if they did they agreed to pay for it if they shot it. So far nobody else wanted to buy me a replacement and I shot it for them :-)
My issue is that many of the ranges around my area won't let you set up this kind of gear during high-volume times. So unless you can take a day off work, you can't set up in a controlled environment.
That leaves you out in the desert with a questionable rest trying to get things aligned and sooner or later you forget to pay attention to the fact you bag slipped when you last walked to the targets. And boom, bullet to the chrono.
Labradar has solved the issue for me.
For sure, I?m assuming a guy could make or buy replacement rods for these?as long as the main unit isn?t hit that is : (
I have both a Caldwell and Competition Electronics Pro ChronoDLX. Hands down the Pro ChoronDLX is my favorite. It always connects via bluetooth and it is very rare when it doesn't record a shot, can't say how frustrating my Caldwell is. I can neither confirm nor deny that my Caldwell has had a flesh wound down the edge of the unit, however it didn't make the connectivity any better or worse.
For replacement rods I have heard of individuals using bamboo skewers. From what I've heard if you hit the original aluminum rods you will most likely knock the chrono off of the stand onto the ground where the bamboo only breaks.
