Title: Witness value?
Post by: daved20319 on November 25 2021 09:27:54 AM MST
So what's resale like on the base model EAA Witness?  I have a low round count, full size Steel in 10mm, Wonder finish, I did the basic Henning upgrades, and have 5 mags, 4 brand new.  I've got it listed elsewhere, but it's generated next to no interest, so I'm wondering if I simply have it priced too high.  Thanks.

Probably $450-$550

Thank you, that tells me that my pricing IS in line with reality, my timing is just bad.  Oh well, maybe it'll trade better than it sells.  Later.

I think the Tanfoglio pistols never got the attention deserved by the public, though the gun game shooters sure did. With a few custom houses as well as factory full race options they're a great pistol.

Now it seems as if that EAA is moving out of the picture and I'm hoping IFG can carry it to the next level of wider acceptance. Funny, those who crab  about the Tanfo all steel weight have no problem with CZ's,  for me the Tanfo is a better pistol.

GLWTS :-)

I'm interested. Where are you? I would prefer the compact, but can live with the full sized. Both of my current 10s are somewhat collectable, so I am looking for a shooter 10. I don't know if I can get PMs yet, if not cowboybart "at" hotmail "dot" com

A Witness is not collectible.

Unless I missed something, cowboybart didn't say they were.  He said he had collectible 10's, and that he wanted a Witness as a shooter.

Yup, looking for a shooter.

Hey sqlbullet, Can I post a WTB ad before I have 25 posts??

Sure.  Not sure there are a lot of sellers here, but there may be some.

The public probably didn?t take them seriously due to their stupid and goofy ads for 30 years. The absolute worst in the industry.

I?m not trashing the guns, I own three.  Their management should have been kicked out the door long ago.

newby here, wouldn't the age matter? early witness pistols had a rep for the slides cracking that isn't an issue with newer guns? They aren't easy to find either, at least around here they aren't.

The slide cracking came and went a couple of times.  It was a heat treat issue with certain lots of slides a couple different times as well as with one batch of frames.  The effected lots didn't get the proper passivation/tempering after hardening and were actually too hard, which made them brittle.

Two of my witness guns are from the mid 2000's just about one year before one of the bad batches of slides.  The last batch of slides that had the issue shipped in 2007 or 2008 IIRC.
