Big difference.  Almost too thin for shooting, but perfect for carry.

No experience with them.  Price is right.

The gun is too big for carry , so it is a HD nightstand gun.I have small hands so in its current config its just too damn wide. I even had custom 1911 grips made for my Kimber and Detonics CombatMaster as std is too wide. On the contrary a .45 shield fits my hand perfectly. I can hide that in gym shorts and a t shirt. 5'9" at 175 lb. Not a fattie.

Have you looked into aluminum grips? Most are pretty thin and if not you could sand or grind them thinner and still have structure should you have a case rupture.

All my Tanfos sport aluminum grips.
