After installing the Trijicons (I checked the part number--looks to be the correct sight set) --I'm hitting about 2 1/2" high at 7 yds. Without trying to replace a sight, are there any options to correct point of impact other than changing point of aim? This seems like a significant error to me--over a millimeter of sight height error by my calculations.
you could file down the rear sight....But that won't change where the glowing dots are.
Sounds to me like a mfg letter is in order.
I don't have trijicons but do have aftermarket sights (sovegney) and their sights are supposed to hit point of aim at 25 yards or about a 6 o'clock aim for bulls eye closer on my g20. What are the trijicons noted as having for their POA zero?
mlk brings up a good point. What kind of aim-point are you using?
Test them at 20 yards using the common 6 o-clock hold and see what you get.
BongoBoy I'm not sure this is going to help much but give this a try...I know that one of your firearms has the Red Dot glass on it, so just maybe this can lead you in a direction.

Thanks everybody--I'll try to give some extra info. Up close, like at 7 yds and under, I will generally shoot with sight picture #2 or #3 as shown in Wade's diagram above. Lately I have tended to shoot more with sight picture 3--superimposing the big blob right over top of the bull. Not until the bull is about the width of the front sight would I normally start going to sight picture 1--out at maybe 12-15 yds or further.
I run the same sights on my K40 and M&P 45c so I expect I'm using the same sight picture with the G29 that I use with those two guns, and both of them are dead nuts (for however I'm aiming). I'll simply have to adjust my habits for this gun, I guess. It's actually closer to 2 1/4", and if I just go to sight image 1 (in Shadow's diagrams above) with this gun, I'll be okay. It's tougher to do that, for me, but I can and this isn't a gun I intend to shoot for 'precision' target anyway. Target looks like this at 7 yds:

Another option, although a real tedious one, would be to build up the bottom of the front sight with JB Weld (carefully), then file it (carefully) to fit tight in the slide, and hope the screw is long enough to grab a few threads and hold it in.
I almost always use the sight image #2 in the second picture, for my point of aim. With my G-29 they hit in the center of black even out to longer distance. If I were shooting 100 yrds I'd aim sight image #3 to compensate.
