Title: Crowded Florida gunshow report.
Post by: gnappi on June 21 2021 07:15:38 AM MDT
South Florida has been "open" (post pandemic lock down of public events) for quite a while and shows are packed.

The good...

This weekend in Miami there were some fair deals on firearms, and dealers were back to discounting off the MSRP. Some were "optimistic" about trying to get 30% over MSRP but their booths doing the 4470 sales were empty. Unusual new old stock continues to come out of storage and I saw some 10's that were getting a fair amount of buyers looking.

The still not so good...

The ammo $$ situation has not felt the trickle down of lower prices I've read of yet, and I did not see any crowds near the big ammo sellers. I'm guessing the gougers who bought a lot of ammo hoping to cash in are going to get stuck with a lot of ammo, good deal :-)

Good to hear that there's a brisk business and prices are normalizing, somewhat. I have the same feelings about the gougers at shows. The last time .22lr was totally unavailable there was a dirtbag at a local show with 3 tables stacked 2' high with .22 ammo. He wanted $99 a brick and up depending on brand. I noticed several people casually strolling by and commenting he was born out of wedlock, etc.

I'd buy a flintlock and start making my own powder before I gave people like that a dime of my money.

My feelings exactly GB!

That's why I'm just staying away from gunshows, which is extremely hard, being a gun addict and all.
