I guess you know you are reloading in today's environment when you need regular small pistol primers but don't have any so you are using small pistol mag primers, run out of those so you switch to small rifle primers to finish!!!!!! Boy I can make anything work!! On another note I fixed my Lyman press with a new set screw that holds the shell holder in place. Simple fix a?? took me about two weeks to find the correct set screw and then needed a longer one to fix it correctly but all fixed now. I am only using this press to remove old primers before going to the wet tumbler. I still haven't figured out a good spent primer catcher. The ones on the internet are all crap if you ask me. Made out of soft plastic that breaks when you look at it. The net also has a simple cup arrangement but not for my press. May try to build something like it for my Lyman press. Craig

Hey Greybeard, Thanks for the link. It looks good and I may consider it. I got the Lyman setup to try different die set ups for reloading in general. I do like the Lee decaping die as you only need one but you have to change shell holders. Your answer is something to think about that's for sure. BTW not sure if I said it or not but I am using two presses at the same time. I just set up two die in the Reddding t7 at a time. I also keep 9mm set up all the time in the Redding. Craig
I have an inexpensive Lyman press with the Lee universal decapping die, too. But I like to have a little flexibility as to where I sit around and knock out primers.

I have one of those. Use it on all my hand gun rounds.
Only minor complaint is that the clear spent primer holder part can fall off every once in a while. Other then that it works well.

Oh happy days. I was at a gun show today and found and bought a primer catcher part that was made for a Lyman something or other. I paid 5.00 for it and just tried it and it works perfect. The only thing I need to do is figure out how to attach it better as it was for a different press. I ran through a bunch of cases and didn't loose a single primer. It made my day that's for sure!!! BTW found some primers that I paid too much for but I have some now anyway!!!!
I fixed the spent primer catcher with a short bungee cord. It is now perfect and I can throw the internet piece of junk away. I couldn't be happier. Craig
OK loaded up 100 165g v crown for a friend and will load the remaining 40ish for myself. I have a bunch of 180g gold dot I could do sometime. The spent primer catcher worked flawlessly and I came up with a cute idea. With using a bungee cord to snug it up to the press it allows me to pull it out, twist it to empty it. Cool idea i think!! Was working on 40 cal still. getting brass in the wet tumbler. I de-primed resized and flared 100+ cases. Then for something to try I emptied the spent primer catcher just like I thought and it worked perfectly, These will be the 180g gold dot but I also have 200g blue bullets I can do but I have both loaded from before. Well I am done with 100 180g 40 cal gold dot and only have 40 or so left. May do them in 10mm for something to do as I am out of 9mm and was expecting a large shipment but it was delivered to a wrong address so the post office is picking if up and delivering it in a few days. Boy who would of thought they could screw up that bad. He He. I do have large quantity's of 180g, 38, and 45 I always forget about as they are sitting out of sight. Ought to dig them out. Boy we went from to cold to to wet to to hot for shooting. It's all I can do to sit here in the air conditioning. Craig

Depending on your perspective, things may be looking up. Today at the West Palm Beach gun show I could have bought all the primers I wanted... at $150 per thou and powder was $50 across the board on ANY brand and type. :-)
