Title: CCI 350 magnum primers
Post by: toolfreak on April 17 2021 06:00:31 PM MDT
I have a Glock 29 and I was given some CCI large magnum pistol primers and I wanted to know if I can use them or do I only use standard large pistol primers!
Thanks,
Toolfreak

toolfreak  Welcome to the forum!  If you are not loading to the max you could swap the mag primers...  Standard primers usually work just fine!
Best regards!   ;D

Hello toolfreak and welcome to the forum.

I'll second the shadows comments.

I load for accuracy more so than absolute max velocity.  In my load testing, using powders like Blue Dot, BE-86 or Power pistol, the only difference I've recorded by swapping to the mag primer is a slight increase in extreme velocity spread and standard deviation numbers. Ball powders like Accurate #7 and especially #9 will show a slight improvement.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to all that replied, I will try to trade them for standard primers.
