Dave Clarke is usually right on the money and no excuses. Sadly, most of our alleged journalism has devolved into opinion pieces and personal viewpoints. In the UK they refer to their tv news people as "newsreaders." That's all they should be. Just read me the facts as best you know them and I'll make up my own mind as to how to feel about them.
FWIW, I've met and talked to several local tv news people over the years. Most weren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. There definitely seemed to be a correlation between looks and vapid arrogance.
