Title: Shooting 15 miles from home
Post by: Kenk on February 09 2021 01:03:25 PM MST
Hence the reason we should carry everywhere we go except possibly for work; it doesn't matter where you live, awful things can happen. Please be in Prayer for everyone involved

And I do...
Number of years back, had to almost draw on group of "people" that appeared to want to mug the wife and I after leaving restaurant ( not well lit public parking )
Put the wife against the car and hand on gun in holster...the group was 20 ft away, when they saw my stance they all turned and ran another direction.

Since then always

Absolutely, had a similar thing happen getting off the light rail in Mpls a few years back. This enormous guy asked for a smoke, so I obliged him, then he demanded my wallet, not sure what I was thinking, but told him I don't think so 😂, that's when I opened my winter coat exposing my G30, that's all it took, and the guy split faster than fast. Now that's a functional deterrent, my weapon never left its holster

Think my method was very effective plus didn't have to deal with all the red tape that goes with it 😀

My edc goes on every morning when my pants do. I take it off before I go to bed. That is my 7bday a week routine.

Prayers out to those involved.

As the saying among my friends goes: "If Joe is here a pistol is present"

I carry everywhere legal, seven days a week, for over twenty years.

I'm a firm believer that the world is nuts and it rears its nutty head at the strangest moments.

For the last 42 years we have lived about a mile down a farm road and in these 40+ years there have been 2 occasions when a firearm made the ending of the day much different. No shots fired, no real display, but just the presence of the firearm precipitated a hasty departure by two different groups many years apart. Both had appeared back on the farm and had started acting "strangely".
Both groups left without saying good bye.

Mostly dispatching sick raccoons and foxes is the main use of a carry weapon.

Absolutely, have had to deal with some of the raccoons over the years myself, nothing the .177 RWS pellet rifle can't handle. FYI, if you are using a 1000 plus FPS pellet gun on coons, hitem behind the ear, works every time for in town frothy visitors 😀
