Title: 1988 Colt Delta Elite & 2013 S&W 1006
Post by: Trevormcfar on February 05 2021 05:05:41 PM MST
Hi Everyone...

New to the forum and would like to see if anyone can help...  Just looking to see what (ball park) a LNIB 1988 Colt Delta Elite (blued) with original Box/1 magazine only, and a 2013 S&W 1006 with original box/2 magazines should sell for.

Looking for an estate sale and needing to get an idea of what would be a fair price.  Guns do not look like they have been shot, and if they have... very little as there are no marks on either.

Any assistance would be helpful.    (And just for fun... If you could keep only one of them... which one would you keep and why?)..   Just in case I want to buy one of them for myself LOL...

Anyways... I am in Alberta, so the pricing will be different, but at least a ball park would be appreciated.   Thank you.

Welcome to the forum...The Colt DE Blue LNIB I would sat about $1300.00 US.
The S&W1006 (those were made 1990 1993) 26,979 units produced.  The are running around $1000.00 to $1200.00 US in great condition, $900.00 in good without the box, paperwork and tools.

There can be other things to affect values.

I have the S&W1006 since 1990, and it still serves me well to this day!  It is very special to me and is built like a tank!

The Shadow knows more than I but I would keep the Delta.  I'm a Colt fan (boy).  I have the newer Delta.  Wish you could sell across the border.  I'ld take that for $1300 easy.

Both are nice guns but which to keep depends on what you want to do with it. The 1006 is built like a tank, but parts and mags are getting harder to find as S&W no longer supports that line.

FWIW, I have a '87 or '88 Delta Elite that I bought new. The blueing was beautiful but the original trigger was total crap as was the recoil spring system. The GI spring plug with the nested spring system was just a bad idea. If you plan on keeping and shooting that one, I'd suggest either a single 23# recoil spring or a FLGR w/ a 23# recoil spring. The original nested springs were supposed to equal 23#.

Either way, you can't go wrong.

I haven't paid much attention to 1006 pricing lately, but it used to be that one with the standard Novak rear sight was worth a touch more and easier to sell because it flat out looks better than a 1006 with the adjustable sight (often called "elephant ears")....but the opportunity to buy any 1006 is getting scarce these days. Don't pass up the chance (unless they're gouging).
