Title: Here we go again
Post by: jiminthe burg on February 05 2021 05:23:55 AM MST
I don't think this bill will pass but it is crazy. My fear is that if they start introducing antigun legislation " a bit-at-a-time", 2nd amendment rights will be pointless because it will be virtually impossible to own a firearm.

Count on wave after wave of this. As soon as it becomes clear that the Biden/Harris administration starts failing miserably, this will become the go to smoke and mirrors distraction. The media will jump in wholeheartedly because it plays to fear.

And another thing. Since when do I need a psychological evaluation to exercise a constitutional right?? What an absurd precedent that sets!

As always, they will attempt to erode and or remove our rights in very small increments while hoping no one will notice

This is just a distraction. This has ZERO chances of passing.........BUT it will make other less nutty legislation seem reasonable.

This.  In yard sale negotiation this is the "gasp" price.  The insanely low (or high) initial price that sets the tone for the rest of the negotiation.  I have a friend that is the master of low-balling people and having them not be put-off by it, and he gets insane deals.

With the current Congress I would never say zero chance.

"(B) ACCESS.—The Attorney General shall make the contents of the database accessible to all members of the public, all Federal, State, and local law enforcement authorities, all branches of the United States Armed Forces, and all State and local governments, as defined by the Bureau.

Besides the obvious "the government can now easily kick your door in at 4.00am in full swat gear to confiscate your weapons because Karen Liberalnutjob down the street saw you put a gun case into the trunk of your car when you were going hunting and she now feels threatened" this little gem would be a positive boon to the criminals that wish to go "gun shopping" in your neighborhood.

Yes, we would likely see the number of SD shootings skyrocket.
