www.grayguns.com converted a pile of SIG P220's to 10mm. The only problem? I think I got my custom built Fusion Firearms long slide 10mm for less....and I think YOU have to supply the P220. :(

Having just bought a P220 Match Elite I seriously looked at this. I think base conversion is around $800. Full blown was around $1800. Just not gonna do it.
I considered one, but chose to have a custom 10mm 1911 made instead. At the time, a Sig P229 was my primary carry piece and the one I trained with. So a 10mm with a similar DA/SA trigger and manual of arms was attractive.
I saw a run of barrels for this gun during a visit to Bar-Sto's shop when I was having them make and fit the 10mm barrel for my 1911.
Everyone involved, Gray Guns and Bar-Sto were very serious about making a quality gun.
The rare review I have read about them indicates they are top notch guns. They just seem really pricey to me, especially compared to the other DA/SA options in 10mm.
I guess, if price is no object...
I certainly enjoyed my P220 Elite and I don't think anyone can say its not an excellent gun. I don't care for the alloy framed guns (of any kind) and wouldn't want to go that way. I recently sold my Elite because for me it just didn't fulfill any need, real or perceived. The DA/SA thing never bothered me a bit, and you can bet that they don't leave Grayguns without being especially nice. That said, that DA/SA trigger also solves no problem that I have, and is really more of a bizarre novelty/quirk than anything, for me. I'm very happy to see shooters have another option for 10mm, and very pleased to see That Grayguns followed thru on the conversion project.
What would be more interesting to me would be an M&P in 10, and even an XD. These guys need to start from the drawing board, ground up, etc., and introduce guns that would give the G20 and 29 a real serious challenge. I can't imagine that would be too difficult.
I love my SIG P-229. I traded in two Ruger P series pistols in for mine. Both the Rugers had Crimson Trace Laser grips on them, so for those I got A NIB P229 in .40 S&W, and the optional 357 SIG barrel. But you can bet the SIG got it's OWN set of Crimson Trace grips real fast.
I thought that was slick, traded in two 9mm's for two different calibers. Still had the 9mm covered, with an FN High Power.
I've done several defensive pistol courses at Sig Academy in NH, and always chose a P229 when there--and had pretty much my pick of anything in the armory, which was a lot. It's a fantastic handgun, no question. The idea above of an X-Five in 10 is pretty cool, too...it would certainly be a beautiful piece.
But, now that I've got my EAA Hunter and have a few rounds through it, I'm sold for the time being on that gun. With 15 in the handle, a grip that's as comfy for me as any super custom 1911, and no plastic to be found anywhere...I'd buy a 2nd one or the EAA Bullseye model before going any other route if it was a high-performance target-length gun I was after having rock-solid build. IMO, they're built and machined like the old Belgian-made Brownings of yesteryear, or as close as you can get for under $1,200.
The EAA Elite Stock has always struck me as pretty nifty looking carry option for a full-size gun. Just like the standard Witness full-size, but is hard chromed and had a trip through the Tanfoglio custom shop.
Sig has a 1911 style .40 caliber pistol in the works. They have not started production due to the demand of current products. So when they do, chunk the .40 barrel and you know what can take it's place.
Don't chuck the 40 barrel....Ream it.
Had it done to my Para P16-40. For $35 it became a 10mm.

I'm always a bit leery of doing that though. Because the basic gun itself was not designed for 10mm pressures.
We have had this argument before. You might could argue 10mm impulse. Pressure is functionally the same between 40 and 10 (35,000 and 37,500 respectively). And both come from the same barrel blanks. Schueman, kart, storm lake, etc all start with the same blank for all .400 barrels.
Plus, we aren't talking about amping up a 40 that is already just an amped up 9mm. We are starting with a 1911 platform, which is very capable of handling 10mm auto impulse. You have a couple yourself as I recall.
You could argue that the slide of the Delta Elite and other 10mm guns has more mass. That is true of the Glock I believe, but the Delta Elite comes in the same as a run of the mill 1911 5" at 2.44 lbs average. And, even if the 10mm slides were heavier, the specs for the slides for 1911's with a 10mm compatible breech face are common.
The only reason NOT to ream the barrel of a .40 1911 is if you want to shoot both 40 and 10mm. If you don't do .40, ream that barrel.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the X-5 may have been a better choice
I was part of Bruce's first run at this back in 2007. I was in no rush but it took 2 years to get the gun and he had many issues; however, Bruce made good on his promise and even though my gun had issues, after sending it back to him it was flawless.
It's a fun gun to shoot and since he's fixed it, I've had no issues with it.
I've almost never carry this gun since my two main carry guns are a G20 and a Wilson Supergrade .45 ACP.
All in all, if you have the money, Bruce's people in Oregon do make a great Sig 10mm.
