Title: Gun show and civic duty
Post by: gadabout on January 01 2021 11:01:54 AM MST
OK I just received my 600.00 direct deposit and had already taken out for the gun show this weekend. I am really not looking to buy except primers and some bullets for reloading 300 blackout for a friend. This is when I usually come across a gun to buy in the crowd usually. I am not sure of the prices at this time of the new year but there is a scare going around about Biden going to be knocking on doors to get our guns but I sold all mine at the gun show over the last few years if you get my drift!!!! Anyway will see what anyone has while the getting is good and it's my civic duty to spends the money as it's good for the economy. I'll let you know how it goes.  Craig

Yep, buying my Sig P220 Hunter was my contribution to  stimulating the economy on the first round of checks, and by the way, I sold all of mine too 😂

I had my guy make a holster for the Walther p-38 and it turned out great. I found some 135g bullets for the 300 blackout and some 45 long colt that the guy wants me to reload for his son to shoot. I found it walking out of the show so it was perfect timing.  Craig

Went to the same gun show today which is a few weeks later. I found a brick of 1000 small pistol primers and the guy only wanted 500.00 dollars for it. I passed and almost passed out. But it's a good show when I don't buy anything and come back with all the money I took.  C

Absolutely, my problem is I always buy something if it's needed or not 😩

When I got back from from the show I went to the local place to see if they had any primers or powder. They have been out of both for a long time. Today they had Alliant powder in stock so I bought 2 lbs, the limit is two a day, I will get two more tomorrow. That will last me a couple of years. May be longer if there are no primers available ever!!  Craig

This is about a week later. I am going to another gun show and don't need powder or primers. I already got money out of the bank so I may have to buy something. I guess I could look for 30 cal bullets for reloading 300 blackout for the holster guy but I was looking at prices of loaded rounds on the net and was shocked at the prices. I usually give the holster guy 100 300 blackout rounds and this time I loaded 50 v-crown for his wife and that equals about 200.00 if he had to buy the rounds. It's a good thing we have been friends for like 15 plus years. I guess he is lucky I love to reload. Craig
