Where is everyone getting their primers? Or did you guys stock up before this latest Ammo shortage?

I'm stocked up and always am. Back when I trained for IPSC and taught more than I do today, I shot a LOT more and just got in the habit of having them around.

Every time this scarcity issue happens shooters note not being able to reload for lack of components... OR they start reloading because ammo is unobtainable, lessons learned I hope.

Absolutely, this is not the first, nor the last time this will happen. Once availability opens back up, we all need to go big or go home  😀😀😀

Check your local gun boards/forums. There are some here in Michigan that have people willing to trade for primers or asking fairly reasonable prices. In person pickup makes $40/1000 in the reasonable range since you aren't paying hazmat shipping.

Where at in Michigan?  I'm up here in "Da UP, Eh!" and get down the LP west coast frequently.  Would love to trade some Large Pistol for Small Rifle.  High Power season is coming up in a few months.

Take a look here https://www.migunowners.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?256-Reloading-Supplies-and-Tools&s=e1296a2f0a2c0f760d9a98bf982867f5

You might also want to swing through Gaylord and Clare on your way through the lower. Jay's Sporting Goods, in Clare, had small rifle primers during the tail end of rifle season. They weren't price gouging. I stop in every time I drive through and have scored powder and primers during the shortages of the recent past.

I have some relatives in Iron Mountain. Spent a lot of time in Da UP when I was a kid.

Earl, where in Da UP? I used to live off M-28 between Trout Creek and Kenton.

Actually it's out in the suburbs of Spread Eagle, WI,  just west of Iron Mountain.  Real-estate market was a little better west of the Menominee River.  Otherwise I still claim my Yoopership.

I've been there many times. Some of my relatives have done the same thing. They hop-scotched from Iron Mountain/Kingsford across the border to outskirts of Niagara and Aurora.

Just seen an ad on Craigslist, $45 for 100 primers. SMH.

I ended up paying $180 shipped on Gunbroker for large pistol primers. That puts me at 3000 for large pistol. I only have 1500 small rifle though. I have plenty of 223 ammo. I will use some of them on 300 BO though. I dropped the ball. I refuse to pay the prices on gunbroker any longer. If/when things get back to somewhat normal, I will be better prepared. With what I have loaded most of my primers should last me a while. I should still be able to go and shoot without fear of running out. For this year anyway.
